Elephant Guard Table
Aluminium, polished, 184 x 92 x 77 cm, 90 kg, 2021

The table intends to blur the boundaries between sculpture and furniture by applying a geometric visual language and the sand casting technique.

The piece emerges from a 5500kg mould, which is as heavy as an adult elephant. The table itself weighs 90kg, the same as a new born elephant.

The gentle curves are there to guard against any injuries as there is no sharp corners. The table is made in Switzerland using mono-material – 80% recycled aluminium. A percentage of sales will be dedicated to Safe Elephant Foundation in Thailand, emphasising the narrative of safeguarding this powerful yet vulnerable species.
